Marriott – Mobile, AL

     Millex fabricated and installed the lobby package. The construction was quarter-sawn maple veneer over plywood or MDF depending on application. The package was turnkey including acrylic, lighting, metal and stone. The project required close collaboration with the design team.


Highlighted pieces:


     Reception pods –Acrylic light inserts are switched by touching a secret area on the operator side.


     Bookshelf- The radius bookshelf alternates lighted acrylic sections and book-matched veneer panels on the lobby side, the seating side has open shelving for book and artifact storage.


     Bar area- The bar knee wall was existing and retrofitted to mirror wood paneling with stainless reveals built at the reception wall and restaurant TV area. The back bar was replaced with new cabinetry and displays complete with a rotating bottle display. In order to lock up the liquor up at night the bartender simply rotates the entire bottle display and locks it in a closed position. When the bar is open the licquer is displayed on backlit shelving, when the bar is closed backlight graphics of breakfast foods are displayed.      Acrylic feature wall- Impressive mostly due to its extreme size. This wall measures 10.5’ wide by 11’ high and is backlight by more than 80 LED fixtures.
